About

My name is Ojemba Ohohoo. I was born in Germany in 1989 with roots in Nigeria and Ghana. I live between Portugal, Germany, Estonia, and Ghana. My life is a crossing — a place where roads meet, cultures talk, and stories choose their next path. "Ojemba" in Igbo means the traveler — the one who goes, sees, and returns with new eyes. "Ohohoo" in Twi means the stranger/guest — the one who arrives with new stories, and listens before speaking. Together they hold my name, my tension, and my truth. I create to heal. I build to share. My work sits where off-grid living, music, dance, and digital learning feed one another. I co-founded Sankofa Living & Learning, a nonprofit that believes we must go back and fetch what matters — memory, dignity, knowledge — to move forward. I've slept in vans, learned from elders, planted gardens in dry soil, and taught with broken Wi-Fi under open skies. My art is the record of those attempts to live simply and honestly — and my hope that you might see your own journey in mine. I am a father of a daughter and two sons. I currently have no contact with my children — not because I wanted it that way. This side of my story is painful and at the same time one that many know. I speak about it openly, about my mistakes, my responsibility and my hope. I believe that we will see each other again. I believe that it can be good.

Why I Create

We are guests on this earth. We learn by sharing. We grow by returning. If my music, films, or gatherings help you remember something true about yourself, then my traveling has done its work.
